Sugar is at the root of all chronic diseases,
Sugar contributes the progression to cardiovascular disease, which is the leading cause of death in U.S. Sugar contributes to cancer to the degree that one out of three people will get and die of. Sugar rapidly accelerates the aging process more than any other substance. Sugar destroys your tissues. It cause fatigue. It advances mental depression, anxiety, and loss of mental acuity. It is the #1 ‘food’ you must avoid if you want to be physically and mentally powerful through a long, prosperous life.
Yes, the biggest health destroyer in your diet is sugar. If you want a slow, painful death you will eat sugar morning, noon, and night, and have snacks of it throughout your day.
“But it tastes so goooood.”
I know, doesn’t it? It tastes so good because it gets directly into your bloodstream and takes a sharp turn upward to your brain to the gray matter called your hypothalamus and it turns it on! It excites your brain! You feel pleasure immediately. Dopamine is released in high amounts just like sex or when a drug addict takes a hit. This action drives the brain to want even more sugar! But its effects are not done. As sugar gets loaded in your bloodstream it reaches the beta cells of your pancreas and they release insulin to get it out of your blood and into something useful like your muscles. This is the very beginning of the end.
Yes, sweet delicious sugar.
Because of this powerful drug-like effect, sugar has been injected into almost every imaginable, food-like substance invented today. You have been, should I say, drugged by this substance to purchase foods that you otherwise would not eat because sugar is loaded into it.
Fruit juice is one of the worst! I know you will tell me it is fruit but I will tell you it is pure sugar. (I have something for you about fruit that will keep you up at night, coming on the next page). By the way, sugar is added to those juices to bring the taste up to the ‘standard’ without being labeled as such. Why do you think all the orange juice tastes the same....sugar is added (without the labeling)!
Your kids may not eat the cardboard box that their sugary cereal comes in but they would if sugar was added; that’s about same content as the cereal, and they eat that. They love it and may not eat anything else because of the powerful drug affect that sugar has on them.
Here is a very short list that sounds ‘typical’, when in fact, paves the path to body destruction: cereal, fruit juice, bread, potatoes, rice, hot dog buns, applesauce, milk, fruit, sodas.
Sodas are the absolute worst, most deadly liquid ever invented! You want to advance your disease state or get your kids to have early, complicated health problems, drink sodas. Worse are the artificially sweetened sodas, the ‘diet’ sodas! No, I am wrong. The worse, at this point in time, are the energy drinks, the vitamin water, the double, non-fat carmel frappaccino macchiatos...ugh. I will have to tell you about these another day. Just know that these are nothing more than addictive, nutrient-deficient, sugar-laced highballs, none of which should be consumed by anyone with a heartbeat.
The average American eats 140 pounds of sugar every year. You are not average but above average. So let’s say you eat only 100 pounds of sugar every year. This means you eat a 10 pound bag of sugar every month, and I’m a little conservative. Ten pounds! That’s 19 cups every month, about a half a cup of sugar every day. Just one 12 ounce can of soda is about 50 pounds of sugar at the end of the year.
You don’t actually have to spoon it out. And just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
Most of the sugar you eat is totally invisible.
Now why would well-trusted food manufacturers inject sugar into their products? One, you like it...you may crave it so you buy more of it...profits. Two, if they squirt enough sugar into any food concoction, devoid of minerals during the processing, almost anything will taste somewhat palatable and then for the ‘trusted’ companies, addictive to you.
But beware; sugar is a “chronic toxin”, a toxin that will kill you slowly over a long period of time (some people more rapidly than others). It affects brain function, has been known to cause insulin resistance and diabetes, and systemic inflammation. Sugar is really not good, I hope you are getting it by now.
The Silent But Deadly Killer
Sugar is any ingredient ending in “ose”. You know the common names of sugar: fructose, glucose, galactose, maltose, and dextrose. But just look at this list of other forms of sugar:
1. Cane juice and cane syrup
These are the ‘silent’ sugars, the ones you may think are not sugar. But they are sugars nonetheless. They all have very similar biochemical pathway breakdown.
Look at this: glucose, is the foundation of all carbohydrate metabolism. Glucose circulates in your blood and provides fuel for your brain and body. Glucose is the basic constituent of anyone’s diet and a primary nutrient. You need sugar from appropriate food metabolism; but not very much at all.
But most Americans eat far, far too much sugar. Blood glucose problems are now epidemic. One out of three people has or will develop diabetes. Many people show reactive hypoglycemia, a very low level of glucose. Many people show a highly volatile insulin reaction in response to sugar. Up down, up down; spiking and crashing. Not good.
Sugar eaters cause their pancreas to wind up out of control. After years and years of over-production, the cells, mostly muscle cells, become resistant to the action of insulin. The insulin takes sugar out of the blood and into the cells but after awhile the pancreas cannot keep up with the flood of sugar and begins to fail. The muscle cells (and all the other cells of the body that need glucose) have to reject insulin...too much sugar, not enough insulin, so the cells become insulin resistant. As a consequence, glucose is taken to the liver and metabolized into triglycerides and stored as FAT around the waistline. This is how you get fat!
Can you imagine what this is doing to your brain? Your kidneys? Your liver? Your skin? Every cell is supposed to get a regulated supply of sugar. They don’t. They get a tsunami and then a drought.
No wonder sugar consumption is a slow gradual death that happens when you are even watching.
Sugar problems are epidemic. Save yourself and your family from this epidemic by eliminating sugar from your diet. Read the list ingredients on packages and say “NO MORE SUGAR!” Stop eating sweet treats as a reward that you are probably addicted to. Your cellular metabolism will function better, your brain will think better, and you will feel better. You will have more energy. Your will prolong your life instead of defaulting to a miserable, painful one with all its complications.
