How to Make Your Own Shower Spray

Do you struggle with buying shower cleaning products at the store, not knowing for sure what is in them? Sure, you have seen the hazard warnings on spray bottles, but have you ever really paid attention to what they say? Do you make sure you wear a mask or gloves when you use them? Do you dispose of them properly? If not, this recipe is for you.

I recently went to the store to do some research and was surprised to find that the two brands I picked up didn’t even have ingredients listed on the bottle. The brands gave a website or phone number that consumers could call to ask what the ingredients were. I was shocked — we should know exactly what we are bringing into our homes and what we are cleaning with.

This recipe is great for so many reasons. First, it’s easy! All you have to do is spray down your shower after you are finished showering. That’s it .It will work on cleaning and freshening your shower until the next time. No rinse, no squeegee or anything else.

This recipe also prevents water spots, keeps the shower curtain from sticking together and does an amazing job getting rid of sticky residues. Plus, you’ll get toxins out of your home in a way that will cost you pennies compared to what you’d be buying at the store.

Cleaning the shower is a breeze with this combination of ingredients, which includes essential oils for good reason. You’ll love the natural benefits from the essential oils combined with the fast-acting cleaning benefits it’ll have on your shower.

Lemon

Lemon essential oil has so many wonderful uses. It’s a natural disinfectant, among other things, and it will kill the mold in your shower. Now you can stay away from using harsh chemicals like bleach and have the smell of lemons in your shower.

Melaleuca

Melaleuca, also known as tea tree oil, will also kill mold and get rid of soap scum. It is also a great way to help get rid of athlete’s foot, since melaleuca is antifungal. With this shower spray, you’ll get the benefit of getting rid of mold and soap scum while helping to fight athlete’s foot at the same time. Plus, it smells clean and fresh. What’s not to love?

Peppermint

With its wonderful minty scent and powerful antibacterial properties, peppermint is a perfect addition to this homemade shower spray. Peppermint is also known for its ability to act as an energizer and has a real way of lifting your mood. As an added bonus, peppermint also acts as a natural pest deterrent.
