Move over, Dr. Google—AI is becoming the new go-to for health advice. A new nationwide survey reveals that over one-third of Americans (35%) now use AI to manage their health and wellness.
According to the Vitamin Shoppe’s 2025 Trend Report, conducted by Talker Research, people are increasingly relying on AI for various tasks, from understanding medical conditions (31%) to planning meals (25%) and exploring exercise routines (23%). Even emotional support and therapy-style advice (20%) are making the list.
Surprisingly, nearly a quarter of users (24%) are turning to AI to fact-check advice from doctors, influencers, and friends. While AI doesn’t top doctors in trust (93%), it outranks social media (43%) and influencers (41%), with 63% saying they trust AI for health guidance.
Convenience is another big draw. Respondents say AI is easier to question than search engines (31%) and more accessible than scheduling time with a health professional (27%).
The AI trend is part of a bigger wellness wave. Americans are paying more attention to protein, peptides, and adaptogens like shilajit. They’re also favoring gummies, liquids, and chewables over traditional pills.
Interestingly, sleep and mental wellness now outrank fitness and weight loss as top health priorities. And while 75% worry about aging, many are embracing it: 44% say they’ve made peace with growing older.
“This year’s findings show a shift toward holistic, proactive health habits,” said Muriel Gonzalez, President of The Vitamin Shoppe. “And AI is becoming a powerful wellness tool for a new generation of health seekers.”
