Take a lukewarm shower, not a scorching one, before bed

A scorching shower right before bed can leave you flushed and restless. Lukewarm is kinder: warm enough to feel relaxing, cool enough that you are not stepping out in a heat wave of your own making. A short rinse, clean pajamas, and a few minutes to dry off before you climb under the sheet often settle the body better than a spa-level steam session at 10 p.m. Save the very hot shower for mornings or early evenings. You are aiming for comfort, not punishment. Keep the bathroom fan on so steam does not turn the whole hallway humid before you try to sleep cool.
