Your go-to Celsius energy drink might not be what it seems. The FDA has issued a warning after popular spiked-seltzer brand High Noon accidentally shipped vodka seltzers in cans labeled as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink.
The mix-up occurred when a shared manufacturer mistakenly used empty Celsius cans to package High Noon vodka seltzer. The mislabeled drinks were sent to stores in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin between July 21 and July 23.
So far, no illnesses have been reported, but the FDA is urging consumers to take the warning seriously. “Drinking alcohol impacts brain function, coordination, and mood,” the agency noted, emphasizing that accidental consumption could be especially dangerous for children, pregnant women, and anyone avoiding alcohol for health or personal reasons.
The recall applies to two products:
- High Noon Beach Variety Packs (12-pack, 12 oz cans) with specific lot codes L CCC 17JL25 14:00–23:59 and L CCC 18JL25 00:00–03:00.
- Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition (12 oz cans) with silver lids instead of the usual black and lot codes L CCB 02JL25 2:55–3:11.
If you have any of the affected cans, the FDA advises disposing of them immediately and not drinking them. Concerned customers can contact High Noon Consumer Relations at consumerrelations@highnoonvodka.com for guidance and refunds.
While no harm has been reported, the incident highlights the importance of accurate labeling and the risks when alcohol enters products meant for general consumption. If you’re reaching for an energy boost, double-check your can before you sip—it might not just be caffeine inside.
