Eating This for Breakfast May Lower Colon Cancer Risk

A recent study published in Gut Biomes found that frequent yogurt consumption is linked to a lower incidence of colorectal cancer. The researchers suggest that Bifidobacterium, a beneficial bacterium found in yogurt, helps strengthen the intestinal barrier and supports a healthy gut environment, potentially reducing cancer risk.

Dr. Tomotaka Ugai of Harvard Medical School highlighted that yogurt may positively impact gut bacteria, which could help lower the risk of certain colon cancers. However, for those who do not enjoy yogurt, other gut-friendly foods can provide similar benefits.
