Nationwide Food Recalls: Cheese and Coffee Pulled Over Safety Concerns

Two popular grocery items are being pulled from shelves this week after potential contamination risks were discovered, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Wegmans Camembert Cheese Recall
Wegmans has recalled its Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese and several related products due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Sold between July 1 and Aug. 12, the recalled cheese was available at Wegmans locations in 10 states and Washington, D.C. No illnesses have been reported.

Products include:

  • Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese (8.8 oz., UPC 77890-53515)

  • Assorted Cheese Flight (1 lb., UPC 2-77100-00000-0)

  • Grilling Camembert with Tapenade & Roasted Tomatoes (10 oz., UPC 2-77297-00000-0)

  • Caramel Apple Pecan Topped Brie (13 oz., UPC 2-77645-00000-3)

Listeria can cause severe illness, particularly in older adults, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, gastrointestinal distress, and, in pregnancy, risks such as miscarriage or stillbirth. Customers should not consume these products and may return them for a full refund.

Dollar General Instant Coffee Recall
Dollar General is recalling 8-ounce jars of Clover Valley Instant Coffee after reports of glass fragments in the product. The recall covers all U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii and includes lot numbers L-5163, L-5164, and L-5165, with best-by dates in December 2026.

Ingesting glass can lead to serious injuries, from chipped teeth to internal bleeding. No injuries have been reported, but consumers are advised to discard the product and contact Dollar General for a refund.

Bottom Line: Check your fridge and pantry now. Removing these products could prevent serious illness or injury.
