During a press event in Scotland, President Donald Trump delivered his clearest explanation yet about his former association with Jeffrey Epstein, shutting down what he called a “manufactured hoax” pushed by Democrats and the media. Sitting alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump dismissed the relentless speculation and emphasized that he ended his relationship with Epstein decades ago after an “inappropriate” business dispute.
“For years, I wouldn’t talk to Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump said. “He stole staff from me, did something inappropriate. I told him, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’ He did it again, and I threw him out of my club. He was persona non grata. I cut him off long before anybody else did—and I’m glad I did.”
Trump forcefully denied rumors, including a Wall Street Journal story about a supposed raunchy birthday letter. “I don’t do drawings. I’m not a drawing person. And I certainly don’t draw women,” he said, calling the alleged letter “a complete fake.” He also reiterated that he never set foot on Epstein’s infamous island, adding, “I was invited like many in Palm Beach, and I turned it down. One of my better decisions.”
Calling the controversy a “hoax blown way out of proportion,” Trump challenged the Justice Department to release all credible evidence. “If there was anything there, the Democrats would have leaked it years ago,” he said.
Vice President JD Vance backed Trump, blasting past administrations for going “soft” on Epstein. “If you want to blame someone, blame Bush and Obama. Trump threw Epstein out when others were cozying up,” Vance said.
Trump ended by urging the media to focus on real achievements. “We just negotiated the biggest trade deal in history. That’s where America’s attention should be—not on a fake narrative from 30 years ago.”
