If you own a Ninja Foodi, this is urgent: 1.8 million units have just been recalled due to a serious burn risk, and yours could be one of them.
SharkNinja, in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, issued the recall after receiving dozens of reports that the pressure-cooking lid on certain Ninja Foodi OP300-series models can be removed while still under pressure. This malfunction has already resulted in multiple burn injuries from hot food and steam escaping.
The danger lies in the faulty pressure-locking system. If the lid can twist off before the cooker has safely depressurized, users are at high risk of sudden and severe burns. SharkNinja urges owners to stop using the pressure-cooking function immediately until a free replacement lid is installed.
To determine if your unit is affected, look for the model number printed on the rating label on the back of your Ninja Foodi. Instead of checking a long list manually, visit the official recall page, where you can quickly check your model number and request a free replacement lid:
The affected models were sold between January 2019 and March 2025 at Amazon, Costco, Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Target retailers.
If your unit is on the list, discard the current lid immediately and continue using other functions only (like slow cook or steam) until your new lid arrives.
Don’t wait—this kitchen staple could become a serious safety hazard if ignored. Act now to protect yourself and your family.
